Eyes, brows and mouth — what each feature is read for
updated · 5 min read
Face reading takes the features and proportions of a face and reads the tendencies of nature and fortune in them. Rather than looking at a whole face at once, each feature has its own subject, and knowing that settles how you look. This article takes the eyes, brows, nose, mouth and outline in that order.
Here we deal with the three looked at most: the eyes, the brows and the mouth. Once you can read those three, you have more to go on whenever you look at a face.
The eyes show how you are now
The eyes are among the features given the most weight. As well as the shape you were born with, they are taken to show your present state readily. Tired or full of energy. In a photograph this comes through comparatively clearly.
Which means the time of day tells too. A photograph taken on a morning after little sleep and one taken after a rest give a different impression of the same person. If you are having it read, take it on an ordinary day. There is no need to wait for an especially good one.
Large eyes are taken to show feeling that comes to the surface, narrow eyes a turn toward thinking things over inwardly. Neither is better. Whether the outer corners rise or fall is also read as part of the impression.
The brows show the direction of the will
The brows are read as an expression of feeling and will. Their depth, thickness and angle each give something to go on. Since brows are shaped by grooming, the form you keep them in is read as part of what you have chosen.
| Feature | Mainly read for | How well it photographs |
|---|---|---|
| Eyes | Present state, how feeling is shown | Well |
| Brows | Direction of will, lean of feeling | Well |
| Mouth | Stance with people, how you express | Depends on expression |
| Nose | Tendencies about the ground of daily life | Changes with the angle |
The mouth shows how you deal with people
The mouth is taken to show how you relate to people and how you put what you think outward. Its size and the direction of the corners are what to go on. Because it is strongly affected by expression, it is also the feature whose impression changes most with how the photograph is taken.
Photographed with a made smile, almost nothing about the mouth can be read. A photograph for a face reading is better taken with the expression relaxed.
Do not read a feature on its own
A face reading is not an addition of separate features. Strong eyes with a restrained mouth are read as that combination. Pulling out one feature and pronouncing on it falls outside how this method is used.
This service also lists the characteristics feature by feature and then draws them together into how it reads as a whole. Not deciding from one characteristic comes from that same thinking.
Common questions
- If I shape my brows, does my fortune change?
- Face reading treats the shape you keep, grooming included, as part of what you have chosen. Rather than the fortune itself changing, it is more natural to say the impression you give changes.
- Should the photograph be from the front?
- From the front is best. At an angle the balance between the two sides is hard to judge. Take it somewhere bright, with your expression relaxed.
- Can it be read if I am wearing make-up?
- It can. Where the brows have been substantially redrawn, the reading proceeds on that shape. To know the underlying form, photograph yourself with less on.
