Why a free reading is free — how it works and where the limits are
updated · 5 min read
This service is free and has no account to create. The cost is intended to be covered by advertising: not by selling readings, but by carrying adverts on the page.
There are a few ways a free service can stand up. Covering costs with advertising; funnelling people toward a paid tier; passing collected information on to others. The third is not done here, because there is nothing collected to pass on.
Choosing this shape means charging no one, and in exchange placing a ceiling on what can be spent per person. What is built is designed inside that constraint.
AI is called once
Most of the cost is what the AI charges, so the number of calls is kept to a minimum. The part that assembles the results of the nine methods runs through a fixed procedure with no AI at all.
| Step | Does it use AI? |
|---|---|
| Calculating the nine methods | No |
| Readings by period (one hundred and eighty) | No |
| The compatibility reading | No |
| Reading the oracle cards | No |
| Face and palm from photographs | Yes |
| The overall reading at the end | Yes |
That so much runs without AI is not corner-cutting. A fixed procedure keeps the result reproducible: the same input gives the same result. For a reading, that is the more desirable property.
There is a daily ceiling on use
The steps that use AI have a daily ceiling across the service as a whole. When it is reached, that feature stops for the day and returns the next.
The ceiling is there so that costs cannot swell unpredictably. To keep offering something free, the amount that can go out in a day has to have a top. That is the mechanism that holds it.
The ceiling counts the service as a whole, not each user. Limiting per person still leaves the cost open-ended if use concentrates. A ceiling on the total is what fixes the daily maximum.
Readings with identical content are kept for a time and reused, so the same calculation does not run repeatedly. That is another way the cost is held down.
What is kept to even though it is free
Nothing is treated carelessly because the service is free. Names, dates of birth, photographs and readings are not stored. Photographs are discarded as soon as the analysis is done.
Not storing is partly about cost, and more than that, there is no reason to store. Offering a reading does not require keeping a record of past ones.
Common questions
- Will I really not be charged?
- There is no charging mechanism at all. No payment screen and no paid tier. With no account either, there is nothing to hold billing details in.
- What happens when the ceiling is reached?
- That feature stops for the day and returns the next. The parts that use no AI, such as the reading from a date of birth, are unaffected.
- Do adverts always appear?
- There are advertising slots on the page, and they never hold up the reading. Nothing is built to make you wait for an advert to finish.
